We have been seeing how appreciative everyone has been for the health care workers and the grocers and the truckers. I have heard so much about mental health care needs but I have not seen a shout out for the mental health care workers who are helping to support those in need during this stressful time.
I would like to take this space to give a shout out to the dedicated staff at Summit who have made the transition to telehealth and working at home to continue to provide services during this time.
Everyone is feeling the stress of this pandemic from lost wages, decreased hours at grocery stores, loss of personal services like hair salons, and most importantly decreased social contact and feelings of isolation and loneliness. People who have never had mental health symptoms are experiencing depression, anxiety, and even feelings of panic.
While our staff may be feeling similar feelings, they are putting aside their own struggles to help others. This takes a great deal of compassion, strength, and a deep sense of responsibility to help others.
Here is a shout out to everyone who works at Summit from the janitorial staff, the billing, and admin team to our clinical team and skills workers! Thank you for your service!
As an appreciation for their efforts, we are teaming up with Genoa Telepsychiatry to offer a free meal to our staff and their families. It is a small token of our appreciation for all they are doing.
We continue to be open for business and are still taking new referrals. We are providing services through teletherapy which is now covered by most insurances.
